How we write and review questions

What stands behind each CWI question on CWI Ready, where the facts come from, and what happens when something is wrong.

  • Written to the published outline

Every question maps to one domain of AWS's current CWI content outline, and the bank is weighted the way the outline weights the exam. We have 378 questions across 15 domains.

  • Every explanation names its source

Each answer explains why the right option is right and why each wrong option is wrong, then names the standard, regulation or manual it comes from. We cite sources by document and, where we can confirm it, chapter or section. We do not reproduce them.

  • Checked by a credentialed expert

Mark J. Curry (AWS CWI) reviews questions and explanations against those sources and their own practice. Study guides show who reviewed them and when, or say that review is pending. About the reviewer

  • Independent, so no leaked items

We are not affiliated with AWS and have no access to real exam questions. We never use questions recalled from the real exam. Our questions test the same knowledge in our own words.

  • Mistakes get fixed

Every question has a "Report a problem" button. Reports go to Mark J. Curry, and corrected questions are updated in the bank.

  • The AI tutor is labeled as AI

The tutor answers follow-up questions using the question and its explanation. Its replies are generated by AI and can be wrong, so treat the written explanation and its source as the authority.

  • Honest numbers

AWS requires 72% on each part. We don't publish pass rates or testimonials we can't back up.

Sources the bank cites

Who reviews

Mark J. Curry
“Most people who fail Part C know the code. They run out of time looking things up, so practice finding clauses in D1.1 until you can do it without thinking.”
